Help Homescreen lag

I find that with 7 home screens, there's some lag, but once I reduced the number to 5 and got rid of some widgets (ex. AT&T Featured Apps) the lag almost completely disappeared.

I use only 1 homescreen on Launcher Pro and there is still definetly lag. Try doing this and see if you lag while scrolling, cause I do: Go to settings -> Wireless and Network -> Wifi Settings. Scroll through that page and tell me if you lag. I have about 10-15 networks on that list and I lag EVERYTIME while scrolling.

Sorry to hear your bad luck with the Galaxy S 2. After reading your posts I have been examining my SGS2 closely, but I really don't have any lag.
I have used the stock ROM, Unnamed (my favorite right now) and even CM7 (sadly, not as good as on my old Aria).
But my point is I have no lag. And I have used both the Samsung launcher and (my favorite launcher) ADW Ex. and still ok.

The only thing I have that might reduce the burden on my phone CPU is that I have no wall paper (pure black background)...

Curious, since it seems a couple of folks have this issue...I am sure it really it's occurring... but how & and why are the worrying questions.

Yeh I have no lag either even with some widgets etc running, I'm really impressed with how smooth and fast the OS is especially since I'm coming from iOS. Sounds like it may be hardware related or certain app causing interference if it still happens after a factory reset.

Try what I just said (1 post above) and tell me if you lag. I'd like to know the results.

The thing is im only in range of 2-3 wifi networks, but i still tried it anyway. there was no lag for me. Im on stock/no root, 6 page homescreens, widgets running on every page, 3 emails set up, live wallpaper, a lot of apps running in the background. My i777 is butter, lag free.

FML... this WOULD happen to me. Does every AT&T GS2 come with a manufacturer warranty, or did you have to buy that separately? And does the warranty cover lag or defects or anything similar?

I too have what you describe but i wouldn't call it lag. its just some juddering happening from time to time either in the menus or in browser. A few people have it so i don't think its a hardware related issue. Also different people perceive things differently so i wouldn't be surprised if the problem is more widespread than what we believe
.Maybe its the architect of the android OS.

Don't you find it annoying? This is supposed to be THE best phone, yet it "lags".

And I did 5 benchmark tests using Quadrant, lowest I got was 3.3k, went to about phone and it showed 1 core (wtf)? Highest I got was 3.9k, and it showed 2 cores. Why did it show 1 core, shouldn't it show 2 cores all the time?

I wouldn't say its annoying. It is still very fast. It responds immediately every time but sometimes scrolling is not very smooth particularly in the browser and only in some web pages. If you do a general search you will see that the "smoothness" problem is minor compared to other android phones and tablets. The galaxy tab is much worse.
