Help Homescreen permanent yellow text after update

srd933933

Lurker
There is a permanent black background yellow text window on all screens and you can't tap the icons behind it because it's in front. It appeared after Verizon sent Android update to phone and shows PDA CSC SMD TSP TSK information.

I tried turning off all the developer options it's still there

Hi.
Do you have Developer Options in your settings list near the bottom?
EDIT i totally missed the end of your post. Sorry :D that does look like one of the touchwiz dev options though

Hi Guys
I have the same annoying window appear a few seconds after the home button is pressed. (see srd933933 image)
It's just started to appear following an upgrade.
I have Developer Options activated to see if it was a debugging aid but no clue from there.
I'm running Android version 4.3 on Galaxy S3
Thx for any help to get rid of it.

Welcome nikbcn!

It appears to be in permanent safe mode.
I'll search around for some stuff:)
What is your model # ?

Hey.. thx for the reply.
Found a fix.
The phone was in permanant Factory Mode after the upgrade.
It needs to be rooted using Odin...

then using Root Explorer (Google Play) ...

couldn't be simpler if you're happy to root your phone.

:):):)

WARNING - My phone is the international version GT-I9300 with no contract and out of warranty - so I guess it'd be good to check if my fix is good for other setups before anyone gives it a go
