i am a newb with my desire. how does one add the mp3 player app to a homescreen that shows it as open. i would like to add the mp3 player to a screen when i scroll left or right to another screen from the homescreen however it only shows the music icon and you have to click it to open the programme instead of it already being open. is this possible ?

You have the shortcut on the homescreen, you need the music widget. Click +, Choose Music, then select the widget style you want.
