Root Horrible battery drain from Mediaserver (on GB)

Since I updated to the latest GB, I have had the constant sync icon but just ignored it and decided to live with it since I didn't think it was actually syncing anything. But I've been getting huge battery drain and I checked the usage and Mediaserver was at like 46%. I thought I disabled the media server sync. Is that what the constant sync icon is doing? Do I have to do the factory reset to stop it?

com.motorola.contacts is also eating a big chunk if that matters.

Factory reset will take care of the sync icon and your problem.
