Help Horrible Camera

I have, but one complaint about GB. It seems that my camera takes even worse shots than before. I have adjusted the settings with no luck. Pictures come out blurry and dark. Not all of the pictures are crap, but most of them are. My wife has an iPhone 4 and her pictures always come out perfectly the first time. I would trade my physical camera button for a working camera any day! Something has to give. I don't want to hear my wife about it anymore!

Download Vignette or by far the best one, Camera360. Cam360 takes MUCH better pics with their HDR filters.....

Make sure your lens is clean. I keep touching it with my fingers.

make sure the lense is clean
make sure you are on Auto picture mode, or steady shot.
make sure your settings (under menu>settings) are all set to default:
resoilution: widescreen
video: 720P
no face detection
exposure: 0
shutter tone: whatever.

my camera actually takes BETTER pics now than it did in froyo. i do do a factory reset before installing tho. so that may be an option if something is still wrong after checking all those settings.

My camera problems have nothing to do with GB, since they've always been there. Does anyone else take pictures/video that just vanish after you take them? They're either not there at all or I get that weird icon as a thumbnail and cannot open the file. The last straw might have been tonight when I lost some nice footage of an insanely drunk chick trying to walk home after a concert. I figured this would be fixed by now.

Sounds like a corrupt or failing sd card.

If you plug your X into your computer and check out the LOST.DIR folder, how many files in it? I wonder if those are your missing pictures.

Otherwise, check out the dcim/Camera folder and see if there's pics in there that are corrupt or unviewable.

Wish it did this automatically. If I use Macro, I constantly forget to set it back to Auto and my next pic will be blurry. I agree the camera is better that it was with Froyo, but the DX camera has ALWAYS fallen short of other phone cameras IMHO.
