Don't hate the messenger of truth. You know that the update is not coming now or over. The money that you wasted on your phone would have been better spent on an item from a manufacturer that actually stands behind their product with prompt updates.
You doubt, but you wait and see....I will be proven correct and then you will all feel like fools.
Anyone that buys any product based on what a salesman or manufacturer says they "plan to do" with said product in the future is a fool. Or a hopeless romantic.
When it comes to modern electronic devices--be they smartphone, digital camera, PC, or any other example you care to mention--as a buyer you should make your decision based on:
A) How much you are willing to spend/able to afford. Today
B) What you need the device to do for you. Today
C) Buy it, Today.
Buy the device that makes A+B=C
Recognize, today, that when A+B=C, "tomorrow" there will be another device that will do 2x(A+B) for 1/2 C less than what you paid yesterday, and it will do it twice as fast.
If your device is able to be upgraded, firmware or otherwise, that's a bonus that will extend the device's usefulness to you for a period of time.
Basing a buying decision on hope, hyperbole, or a blog post is just asking for disappointment.
But please, do continue with how foolish the rest of us are for being satisfied with a device that does exactly what we expected it to when we purchased it. Its a slow Friday, and I enjoy the diversion.
