hot phone

Does anyone else have problems with their phone getting very hot when being used. Mine gets very hot just about where the sd card is inside and on the corresponding bit of the screen. Does anyone know what causes this please and wether it does any damage. It's only when its being used not when the battery is charging.

Mine does the same when I play a game with high quality graphics. I have always assumed it is the processor / GPU getting hot from being used. Seems to cool down fairly quickly.

I also have a rubber protective cover round the phone, which I also assume retains the heat that would normally be dissipated.
