Help hot spot question

[gjhamilton]

I recently got the droid x and had a question about the hotspot. I also have a aircard thru verizon for my laptop that i keep in.my truck. Could you use the hotspot and phone at he same time? And what would the speed be? Thanks for everyones replies.

I appears to me that when I make a call with the phone the data portion (hotspot) pauses while on the call. I am getting around 1.6 down and .50 up. If I am near the tower I get a little more up and down.

How do I tether the X to my laptop not using the hotspot?
