Anyone notice when charging the infuse on a car charger that it gets REAL HOT? on ac charger seems to not happen was wondering if this is a typical occureance

I thought maybe it was just me. Happened on my computer @ work via USB but not on my computer at home or on the AC adapter. I haven't plugged it into USB @ work again since then.

Yes, same happens to my phone when I charge it in the car.
I assume electricity from car charger is not same as electricity from wall charger.
We need to ask somebody who's familiar with electronics to see how these two currents are different.

The voltage in your car is all DC and the current inside your home is AC. The charger itself should be converting it to what the phone can use. As for the Amps, its all what the phone draws so no big difference there. Granted I am not sure what type charging system is in the phone or the car charger but the difference is just the type of voltage the two put out

This occurs on all my phones to varying degrees.

HTC Inc. and Infuse would be about the same range, hovers around 101.. but when I place it against the AC vent for a few minutes, temps would drop to 86-94F

By far the worst was the Motorola Triumph which has been returned.

BTW, I use the Motorola brand of rapid car charger which works fantastic... on both the HTC and Samsung.

Relatively speaking my infuse 4g gets warm when charging with the wall charger, warmer than any 3g phone I've had. Kinda like some of the 2g phones I've had.

The car charger should be used for emergencies ONLY!!! The voltage is WAY too high and causes the battery to charge rapidly while also killing the life span. I have seen the voltage as high as 16.5 volts from the cigarette lighter, but most of the time it will stay around 14-15 volts (still WAAAY too high).

Just thought I could help

Haven't unwrapped the charger that came with the Infuse. I've been using the wall charger and car charger that came with a 5 year old Motorola unit and haven't come close to having any of the bad experiences being reported.
