Help Hotmail puzzle

One of the email accounts I use on my Hero is my Hotmail account which of course I also check on my PC using Outlook with the Outlook Hotmail Connector.

Lately I've noticed some emails disappearing out of my Hotmail Inbox in Outlook. These are emails which I want to keep (at least for awhile) and yet they are disappearing. I've changed my Hotmail password and I am positive I do not have a virus or trojan on my PC.

So this is what I am wondering. Is my Hero tied to my Hotmail account in a way that it acts like Activesync with Exchange? I know that what I see on my Exchange account on my Hero is just a reflection of what I see on the server (so to speak) and that if I delete an email from my Hero that it will be removed from the server at the next sync. But I didn't think any other type of email account was like that. I know POP accounts don't act like that.

But I don't keep Hotmail emails on my phone as I don't need to since I keep them on my PC which syncs with Hotmail via the Connector. So I always delete Hotmail emails off of my phone after viewing them.

So what's going on here? Is Hotmail on the Hero synced with Hotmails servers similar to Exchange? This is the only reason I can think of for emails disappearing out of my Hotmail Inbox.

I believe it is, send yourself 2 emails to your Hotmail account, view then both on the phone and the PC, then delete one from the phone, give it 5 minutes and then check your PC and see if the one you deleted is gone.

Yes, if you've set up your Hotmail/MSN/Mail-Live account properly on your Android email app, then your Outlook/Hotmail email, contacts, and calendar events are synchronized like they would be on an Exchange server. If you delete something on your phone, it's deleted on from your Hotmail account and Outlook. If you create something on your phone, it will exist on your Hotmail account and Outlook.
