Root Hotspot subscriber..can I still use Wireless Tether?

Hello All,
I am a subscriber to VZW Wireless Hotspot, but I'm consistently receiving a message '3G Lost Data Link'. I'm in a great area, tried different laptops, rebooted, etc, yet the problem still exists. Also, the speed is really poor. My phone is stock gingerbread.

I was rooted before Gingerbread and used Wireless Tether and NEVER had an issues.

So my question is can I root my phone and use Wireless Tether instead of Moto's hotspot app? I'd rather just fix the issue but I haven't seen anything yet that is a sure-fire fix for the issue that I'm having.
 
i would honestly call customer service, and let them know of the issue, all wireless tether apps were pulled except for barnacle
 
yes this is very true, but if he is having issues with hotspot that he is paying for he needs to contact verizon about the issue so it can be addressed
 
I just asked a similar question in the cm7 thread, i don't have the hotspot app, only wireless tether. Thoughts?
 
if your not a subscriber and you want to use the wireless tether you do so at your own risk
but you can google for
wireless tether click the link for links to the wireless tether apk
