Hotspot?

You can with root but be careful its against boost's TOS so if they have a monitoring app where they can see exactly what ur phones screen shows like on the prevail then u don't wanna do it til someone finds it and removes it.

What's this about a monitoring app? Any details on that for Prevail? What it's called and how does a person remove it?

Here's the thread, in the shabbymod thread somewhere buried you will find out that someone tested it and it shows everything about your phone. Still not sure if this is a samsung or boost thing yet.

I had a look. Carrier IQ (CIQ) is present on HTC phones, Samsung phones, ZTE Phones (and other phones) - and is used by Boost, Sprint, Verizon, and other carriers.

I wouldn't depend too much on boost 3g for hotspot. it can be done when rooted, but it's kinda spotty to run anything substantial that u would normally run on a lap top or tablet.

its good for practical use on a smartphone though, I don't know why anyone would want to watch a full movie on a 4.3" screen.
