Help Hotspot

Is it just me or does the 3g/4g hotspot on the rezound suck. Whenever I turn this thing on for more than ten minutes it stops loading internet pages on my laptop and my 3g indicator disappears. Is this a widespread issue or am I being screwed out of 30 bucks a month

I used to have this issue with my Thunderbolt but it only happened in certain locations. I then upgraded to the Rezound and initially had the same problem (in the same locations) but after about two weeks the issue went away.

This is a known issue. I've been dealing with it since I got the phone on launch day in November.

I've called Verizon a dozen times, they've sent a new replacement phone, nothing. They said the OTA update in January would fix it, nope. They said the Android 4.0 update would fix it, but who knows when that'll finally come through.

The ICS leak has been confirmed to fix this issue, so I'm sure our OTA will fix it. But it may be another month or two before that rolls out.

I am within my 14 day trial for this phone. I love the size, the look and the feel of the phone. I love everything about this phone except the Mobile HotSpot sucks. It drops me all the time. I am SO frustrated. I came from a rooted DroidX. I am not afraid to root this phone but truthfully, I wanted to be ethical and just do this the right way. Right now, I'm going to call them to get the difference between the cost of the phone when I bought it and the 79.99 that it is now credited back to my account.

But the bigger question is, if I root this, is there anything that is guaranteed to fix this HotSpot problem? If not, should I just drop this phone for the Galaxy or the Razr?

I just joined today and I did a search on HotSpot. Please help!

I continue to pay for MHS and use WiFi Tether, that's included in most ROMs. I'm using Nils Business 5.4 right now and love it. Takes care of every issue I had with the Rezound. I was right on the fence on switching to a Nexus but flashing an ICS ROM changed my mind.
