Help hotspot

How do i get my phone to become a hotspot without playing the verizon fee? i just got a wifi ipad and would like to use my rezound for the internet while i still have the unlimited plan. would i have to root it? any help would be appreciated.

I may be wrong but there was an announcement that said phandroid changed their stance on this topic.


EDIT: i was right. they did not allow this before but they changed it.

anyway, if you root and rom, there are some roms that include the tether app. there is also barnacle on the market. i personally play it safe and pay since there are rumors of carriers cracking down on users who tether without a p[lan.

Hi, I just joined and I have a question about this. I pay for mobile hotspot but the service is terrible. it drops all the time for me.

Do you know of any sure solutions that I can get after rooting the phone? I'm not interested in stealing anything, I want to keep on paying for the mobile hotspot, i just don't want to use it through verizon. I want something that works.

Do you know of anything?
 
Welcome to the Rezound area David. I'm not up on the hotspot alternatives but I'm sure you will find there are options by rooting your phone. At the top of this page is the link for the root area for the Rezound. You might want to look in that area and explore your options. Best of luck to you.

Just root and download WiFi Tether app. Works in ad-hoc and infrastructure mode thanks to some modding on XDA.
 
Is it Wifi Tether by Potente Mobile? I searched for wifi tether app but got back A LOT of responses. Which one are you recommending?
