Root How about a Superwipe? :)

So, when I had my Evo 4G I got a hold of a .zip called SUPERWIPE.zip that was flashable in CWM. When flashed it would automatically wipe everything, it would wipe data and cache like 18 times each, then it would wipe dalvic, and battery stats another five or so times. After running this .zip I never had any issues installing new roms or anything and it was MUCH faster than doing it all manually.

My question is whether or not there is a .zip like it thats usable on the Admire or if someone would like to compile one. With all these awesome roms out for this phone, it would be a lot faster and easier to switch between them.

I got you.... Gimme a few. :)

Try it out...Should wipe literally everything. Just flash it in CWR. Let me know if theres any issues. If some one wants to try it, just flash it and try to reboot. If it goes to a black screen and never boots you know it worked. :) (I dont own this phone so I cant test it out.

Wow, thanks, that was incredibly fast. I appreciate it. I will try it out next time I put a new rom on my phone.

:)

EDIT: I get an "Installation aborted. (Status 0)" when trying to flash :(

lets see if i can shine light on what went wrong.
edit: nvm i took too long xD

I don't know why people see the need to wipe their partitions a million times before flashing a rom. You need to do it once. That's it.. Once.

Dalvik cache is located in /data
Battery stats.bin is located in /data

Format /system
Format /data
Format /cache
*(substitute formatting data/cache for factory reset in cwm if you like)

That's it.
Once.

If you have to do it more than once, something is wrong with your updater-script or cwm

I asked for it because I have found across several different phones that wiping everything multiple times assures you wipe EVERYTHING and leaves nothing behind. I don't know how many times I have only wiped data and cache and it was never enough, ended up getting errors with the rom.

Also, even if you only have to wipe it once, maybe people would like a simple flashable zip to do it all at once.

Different phones can use different file systems. Hell, the admire can use 2 depending if your on stock kernel or reqs oc kernel.
It is always best to use the format features built into cwm to ensure you are formatting to the right file system that is designed for whatever recovery and kernel you are using.
Let's say I were to make a zip for cwm 5.0.2.7 on a stock kernel that formats /system, /data and /cache to ext4. Won't work.
In the admires case, it's rfs vs. Ext4.
That has the potential to make it quite difficult for the end user.
It's just as easy, If not easier to do a factory reset, then format system within cwm.
Most good rom developers will have their updater-scripts set to format accordingly as well, unless they are using a binary that doesn't support certain mounting.
