How big do u think that screens are going to eventually be

4.5 is the max I think for mainstream. And even 4.5 is a lil BIG IMO. I have pretty big hands and I feel 4.3 is just about perfect for me, I can use it one handed, it fits in my pocket just fine, and it doesn't look like I'm holding a tablet up to my ear. The Infuse, while thin, just looks to be a little large to me at 4.5....ofcourse I'd have to really see it in person to make a solid decision. However, I can deff see a phone manufacturer going odd ball with a 4.8 screen. That's just gimmicks to me, no reason for a phone that BIG.

I keep thinking of the movie Red Planet where they had a device with a screen that rolled up or something like that.

They probably won't get any bigger because our hands are only so big. 4.3 is already hard to use for many.

Also, it isn't acceptable for men to have purses so we can only fit a phone so big in our pockets. 4.3 is already too big for some people to carry around.

There may be an outlier or two but it would be a home phone or something like that.

I would love 4.5 to 5.0 depending on the phone design. Everybody has their own wants and needs, if the phone is too large don't buy it.

Yeah i myself think that 4.5 will eventually be the cutoff. I would imagine that companies who make tablets would want a pretty big difference in screen size when it comes to cell phones compared to tablets. I don't think that tablets screens should be all that big since they are used as an alternative to carrying around laptops. I just wonder if over the years since cell phones are more and more becoming like small computers. That tablets will phase out. It would look kinda silly to see someone using a ipad as a handset lol.

I think 4.5 might be the sweet spot in the future. If you look at our phones now, there is a lot of unused space that seems unnecessary to the phone. Looking at the tbolt, if they got rid of the verizon image at the top and replaced it with screen, made the 4 haptic home keys shorter and made the screen wider, it woudl probably be a 4.5 screen.

Yeah they could take out the Verizon logo but i don't think Verizon would be happy about it at all. Its all about product placement. Verizon does not want some one who dosent own that phone have to ask the question "which carrier did u buy that phone from". When they can simply just look at the front of the phone and see the big V. I think the iphone is the only one that can get away with this, but in my opinion the iphone has a ALOT of unused space on their phone.

well seeing as how the biggest screen is 5" (dell streak), i'd have to say that's where it ends. seeing as how people actually bought it, there's obviously a demand (even if it is small) for a screen of that magnitude. but i definitely think the sweet spot is in that 4 inch range (hehe). i have fairly long fingers and have to stretch to hit the refresh button on the engadget app with my tbolt.
