and the HSPA+ is up and running just the phones arent capable yet so your incorrect there
I get speeds faster than my DSL and Sprint's WiMax (at least in my area) on AT&T's 3G

in the greater bay area i find AT&T to get a faster speed than sprint and tmobiles 4g
that being said verizon has no 4g devices (aside from the modem) to compare yet.

YES it is actually ACTIVE go get a HSPA+ mobile card and try it
Testing from San Jose, CA I got around 2 Mbps down and a disappointing 100-200 Kbps up.
dude A) your area might not have it, B) california is a horrible area for AT&T cant deny that hopefully they will fix that soon
I beg to differ. AT&T's 3G coverage is great here. I just guess they don't have 4G here yet. They haven't announced their launched markets yet so it takes trial to see where it's at. I'd be mad if they didn't launch here since some of their 4G devices look rather enticing compared to my EPIC with 1080p, dual-cores, 960x540 Super LCD and Super AMOLED Plus display, etc. Sprint launched a dumbed-down EVO with a keyboard and hasn't announced any new devices yet.

That's definitely not hsdpa+. Just did a speed test with my iPhone and I'm pulling 3.1mbps down and 225kb/s up.

Att doesnt have 4g.
And the evo shift is currently the fastest phone on the market.

So you can beat 10mbps then that I get on WiMax?
The Shift has an 800 MHz processor while the EPIC has a 1 GHz processor
HSPA+ should yield AT LEAST 3 Mbps down, but true HSPA+ devices can go beyond that 7.2 Mbps limit. Those uplink speeds don't look like HSPA+ to me.
getting 3mbps on my dell streak in fremont.
AT&T is actually pretty good in cali, some places are bad though (though every carrier has their rough spots)
for example, the AT&T i work at is in pleasanton CA (where 2 of AT&T's main HQ's are) and the coverage is not as good as most places.
the situation is interesting though...AT*T wants to build towers in the certain rough spots but some of the residents protest it for god knows why lol.
Sorry but I don't see the connection to how this can possibly be political.
It is pretty much the same processor found on the myTouch 4G/Desire HD only clocked at 800MHz instead of 1GHz. You can read about Qualcomm's Snapdragon platform here (these two chips fall under the second generation of Qualcomm chips)- Qualcomm Products and Services - The Snapdragon? Platform
It is the same processor than that which is found on the THC G2/Acer Liquid Metal and both of those phones received stable overclock kernels working up to 1.4GHz (some even higher than that).
I did not know that. Speed tests I've seen were around 3 down.
Regardless, I'm getting a over 3 down and 1 pretty much throughout the greater Houston area.
did you read his post? it was about AT&T wanting to put up towers and the people who complain about the service then complaining they dont want the towers, why do you think that is because their idiots or because there is political motivation?
