Help How can I change my passcode with the 4 digit code?

I have a Galaxy S6. I changed the passcode to arrows and even though I'm putting in the right directions it won't let me in. After a few tries I can use my back up 4 digit code. But I have to wait each time. When I go into the settings to change the passcode it wants me to put the arrows back in, which of course, don't work. I can't see any option to use the 4 digit code instead and override it.

I don't want to reset my phone over this crap.

You could probably use Android Device Manager to change the pin.
