How can I delete my SD card so it wont get recovered?

If you are talking about your average joe trying to get at your pictures by using recovery software you can back up the contents of your SD card and reformat using a security program that will write and erase a bit to every available sector. Then restore everything but the photos.

Welcome to the forums.

Sometimes formatting isnt enough to remove data, all it does is reset the directory structure and mark all blocks as 'unused'. The data is often still there and is still revorable by someone that knows what theyre doing.

Easiest thing to do is to fill the card up with other data. E.g. just copy movies/music onto it until full. Nobody without the full resources of the CIA behind them is going to be able to recover your photos then.

Download Ccleaner for your PC (Google it - it's free), and run the drive wiper application in Tools on the SD card you've inserted in your computer or via the cable that you use to connect your phone. Make SURE you select the correct drive!

If you're on a mac, I know their Disk Utility has some features for improving security and completely wiping SD cards.

Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility

Go to Erase and format the drive. Use a 7-wipe or 35-wipe. This fills every sector of memory on the SD card with 0's, where the 7 goes over it 7 times and, yup you guessed it the 35 goes over it 35 times.
