How can I enlarge attached images in text messages

On the "Note". If I get a text and it has an attached image (lets say a map for an example), well when I open the attachment it goes into the window that has the slideshow. So if I want to keep looking at it, I just click "pause".....BUT, if it's too small to read/see, I cannot figure anyway to enlarge it to make it more readable/visible. Someone sent me their hand drawn map to their house. I have to get a magnifying glass out to see the details.. OR...can I get that image to open somewhere other than the slideshow in order to enlarge it.......thanks

Are you on gingerbread or ice cream sandwich? Because I had that problem when i was on gingerbread. Long press the pic and it should come up with some options. One of them will be to save it to your sd card, then you can go to your gallery and view the pic in full.

seems they've sorted it out in ics now though. no slideshow crap.

On gingerbread.......Long pressing in 'text' does not bring up any option that would allow enlarging. Long pressing in slide mode does nothing.

There is definitely a way to do it because I did it one time when I had gingerbread.

Ok, in slideshow, try pressing the menu button. Anything?

Yeh, Pretty sure the same thing you get if you have the note..........lock message / reply / delete / attach items / view details........that's it

Long-press on the message, select 'Attached Items' then press checkmark next to the image that you want to save, and hit the 'save' button. Same process if you open the message, then long-press on the image that you want -- then just hit the checkmark and then 'save'. It's a bit of a pain.
