Root How can I get all my apps back if I decide to root?

Mine never left? It was weird. I had appbrain though, don't know if that's why. I rooted and installed the latest leaked version of Froyo using the droid-life guide.

I'm not rooted yet. Isn't titanium backup just for rooted phones? (Like after my apps are gone)? I guess all paid apps aren't a problem because they are stored somewhere????:o

Ok I installed appbrain. Looks pretty good so far. Wish me luck-I'm GOING IN!
 
the SHOULD all be tied to your google account thats tied to your phone.
So once you are done, they should all start to redownload.
Or you can manually redownload them by opening the Market then going to Downloads. They should be listed there for you as well.
 
Do contacts or photos get deleted when you root?

The warning on TheUnlockr's directions say that "ALL OF YOUR DATA WILL BE LOST" but doesn't say what data is lost.
 
took me awhile because im at work and had to hide it a lot lol.

To back up your contacts open them up and hit menu and then export. For photos I just used astro to make sure they were installed on the SD Card.
 
yea ur apps that u purchased, and your contacts, are stored to your google account by default (unless you change this they should all be linked). This means when you root or change roms and wipe data, once you start up ur phone and enter in ur gmail account, your contacts will be restored and ur paid apps will be available for download in the market
 
Go to the apps that you downloaded you should see the apps that you paid for and be able to download again w/ out paying for them again.
 
All of your paid apps should show up in the market under downloads as purchased. If they do not then you must have used a different google account.
 
Yea I relized I signed in w/ a. Different one when I set my phone up after rooting. How do I get the market to realize the other account I've signed into? Do I need to unsync the first one?
 
Yes you need to unsync the first one but I'm not sure how other than doing a factory reset. I know there is another way, I just don't know what it is.

actually there isnt another way. You are going to have to factory reset and start over.

You cant delete the account that you originally sign in with. Well there may be a way but certainly not a easy or simple one.
