Help How can I get Google Navigation to do voice?

Alright I live in Puerto Rico part of the US. Google navigation works just fine but I don't get Voice. It recognizes where the car is and what road I am just won't tell me where to turn. Essentiall it's useless unless I look at the screen or have someone navigating for me. So any tips on how to force the voice out?
 
Well in the google navigation app after you choose your destination and it shows the route tap menu is there an option to unmute?
 
I was under the Impression voice with navigation worked out of the box. Always has for me.
 
Just to be clear, are you using Google maps (no turn by turn) or Google Navigation (with turn by turn)? I know it may seem basic, but I've seen more than a few posters confuse the two.
 
Well so far it whenever I start Google Navigation it tells me it's not available for my location (puerto rico) but it kind of still works... I don't know if it's swapping me to maps or not. But on maps I can view where I am and the directions are there and everything so it works like a regular ole GPS just no voice..... Does map do this? I know I"m an Navigation because it's the little Arrow...

NVM I tested it out apprently after I start navigation it goes straight into maps.... so no turn by turn for me due to living on a shitty island.. FML
 
You're not missing much, the voice is really terrible. I paid 2.99 a month for Motion X on my iphone, which was really good. I'm suprised that Google, being Google, didnt give other voices as options, or heck, just a good voice.
 
Google navigation it's not available to Puerto Rico. You are using Google maps which does not offer voice our turn by turn navigation. I also live in Puerto Rico.
