Help How can I make the battery last longer?

Ive had this phone since November but the battery is so annoying. I haven widgets except for a weather one. I have no juice defender type apps as people say they are pointless. I used to have them but uninstalled them. Are there any tips? Battery lasts 7 hrs from 100% to dead with light usage.

Then if you've done that have a read around on some of the battery threads on the front page of this forum lol

i think these phones have a life of their own, my dhd is only a month old and for the last couple of weeks it has been averaging 10 hours life with little to no usage, i was a bout to try and swap it for another phone because i was fed up of charging it non stop. Anyways i ended up just holding the power button down pressing restart phone so it closed everything and wiped the temp memory and it now lasts 2 - 3 days with normal usage (txts, fb, web, games) Guess that there was some shit running that kept eating the battery anyways if it plays up again i know what to do...

when i first got my htc desire htc... with all the "playing" i've done on it... i was lucky to get it to last 8-10 hours:

-wifi
- mail
- installing
- testing apps

but one day i decided to replace the original htc sense with another app: GO launcher

I am not trying to advertise for that app but my htd desire's battery life increased to 15-20 hours.... doing the same stuffs as i did before... i am thinking that the htc sense uses to much battery for nothing... btw i use a normal wallpaper, sync turned on only when i need it, wifi the same, gps off, mobile network turned on only when i need it.
another thing that bugs me is that the proc stays at 100% even when i am not using it... which isn't normal....

anyone knows any app that fixes that?
