How can I program the Alcatel One Touch POP C1?

Hi there,

I would like to learn how to program with Android and create Android apps. At the moment I can't afford much, so I found that phone called Alcatel One Touch POP C1 and I can afford, and I asked the manufacturer if I can create apps and place them in this unit, his answer was Very short and not revealing and did not answer my question he said something like this: he can't tell me it is all third party software and it is not his responsibility.

Can anyone tell me if I can create apps and place them on this unit?
or if anyone knows of an inexpensive smart phone that I can use to learn Android and how to create apps.?

Thank you in advance and I wish you a very pleasant day.
Michael

Hey Michael, welcome to our AndroidForums! :wavey:

I'll try to give you some pointers to get you started--the rest (and the hard work) is up to you :).

First off, take a peek at our Application Development - Android Forums area, especially the stickied (pinned) threads. They have a ton of great information and links in them.

Next, take a look at:

Also, there are tons of tutorials out "there" (on the 'net), free Android training courses, etc. There are also books available, but you might want to try out the on-line resources first.

There's a lot to absorb, so don't be overwhelmed at first--just start small and take small bites (or bytes ;) :p).

Your particular Android device doesn't actually matter--it's good that you have one, but there's actually an Android Virtual Device capability in the Android Software Development Kit (SDK) that allows you to emulate an Android device on your PC.

Anyway, read, play, test, try things, etc. and you'll have your first app in no time at all! :)

Cheers and best of luck!

:)
