Why don't you just wipe your phone?

If you want to start from scratch completely, you could just use dhacker's pathsaver for .902. This way takes a little longer, but you will be forever rooted and at vanilla .902.

Wipe data, cache, dalvik cache, format system, it'll be completely gone. No need to go resetting your entire phone.

So using "902 - Bionic Path Saver and Restore/Root Utility"

Am I right that I would run option 2, then 4, and then 6 and load .902 from SD card.

Is it that easy?

Yes, I did option 5 as well, don't think it was necessary though since I never do the OTA updates.
On other thing, it is really important to plug your phone into the back USB ports with the USB cable that came with your phone.

YES!!!
Flashing firmware is a very exact process. Everything must be perfect or things will fail. The goal here is to eliminate any possible source of problems and get the strongest, cleanest, best connection between the PC and the phone. Aftermarket cables are often not made to the same standards as OEM cables and may give you a poor data connection to the PC. The rear USB ports on a desktop are usually mounted directly to the mainboard as opposed to the front ones that normally have an internal cable running to a pin header on the board. Fewer connections means a stronger signal.

Example:
I have some cheapo cables I bought on ebay. They work fine for charging the phone and transferring normal files to and from the phone. I have had issues with those cables when I try to move ROM files to the phone, they become corrupt and don't work. Also, if I try to use my phone while it is charging with one of those cables the screen is very jumpy and I often cannot click on things properly. That doesn't happen with the MOTO cable. I would not trust those cables to flash firmware.
