Root how can i root my htc desire A8181 v2.2.2

I'm already using Link2SD and that still doesn't help me a lot. And last night I had 56 mb of internal memory and this morning I only have 22 mb of internal memory, how is that possible. And I did clear my caches.

What size is the ext partition on your sd card? Do you have Titanium Backup installed? Can it see the partition on the Titanium home page? How much is being used?

I am currently stuck at the same stage as asked earlier - I didn't find answer to it in this thread

" I m really struggling with the fastboot step.
Why does my computer say: 'fastboot' is not recognized as an internal or external command, oper
able program or batch file."

what am I doing wrong? I am using windows7

Have you completed the pre-requisite steps in the Unrevoked guide (which is linked to from the Revolutionary guide)? See link below:

http://androidforums.com/showthread.php?p=2446722

Prerequisite steps

  • Install the Hboot drivers:

  1. Extract your hboot driver files somewhere you will remember.
  2. Boot into Hboot screen (from off, hold volume down and press power)
  3. Connect Desire to PC (the screen will then show "HBOOT USB") -Here I see HBOOT USB PLUG"
  4. Right click "My computer" > Manage > Device Manager
  5. Expand "Other Devices" in the right-hand pain and locate "Android 1.0 device"
I don't see other devices in my device manager - is it any different for Win7?

I certainly had done that first - HTC drivers are present in my laptop - Sync was uninstalled....

Just to let you know my present status: I am S off but not able to install custom recovery and hence can't root

Hey guys, need some help here. how can I move all my data of my apps to my sd card, I heard that you can do something like that so if there is any way I can do that I really would be thankful. And another thing I downloaded this app 'root all2sd' and it says something about that I need to mount the storage I created but when I say 'mount sd' it says that 'superuser granted root all2sd' and also say sd mounting but it doesn't finnish. Any help with this I would really appreciate it.

I asked you these questions a few posts back but you didn't answer. You need to know if your sd card ext partition is working.

To answer your most recent question; there are ROMs which support data2sd which will move app data to the ext partition. However the more you move to sd the slower & buggier your phone is likely to become.

Personally I found that a stable gingerbread ROM with a custom hboot configuration & nothing relying on the sd gave me an excellent phone for about 2 years. However I haven't used my Desire for almost 18 months now.
