Help how can i speed up my phone??

I just got my new samsung galaxy prevail about a month and half ago.. and its already starting to slow down .. help please..

If you are new to rooting I would suggest to you to just remove bloatware. You'll relieve some stress on the RAM which in turn would greatly speed up your phone.
If you don't know what you can remove you can either Google it (the APK or ask around.)
Its fun, at least for me. Lolz

How do I do that.. and also my anroid came with a whole bunch of stupid apps I don't use.. it wont let me. Unistall them

To "root" your phone, go to this link http://androidforums.com/showthread.php?t=375550
I SUGGEST EITHER GETTING Ej06 or fe16.
Either one Is good. My opinion fe16 is better.
Follow the instructions on how to install the rooted version.
You'll easily have root like this.
Once you've updated to one of these you can look for a guide on how to remove bloateware. Or useless Apps.

PS I could even post up a list of a bunch of system Apps you can erase.

That should make your phone more responsive.
But if you want even snappier you can go for the CTMod ROM. Its the fastest. ROM we've got as of now.

Thanks.. ive been thinking about rooting my phone.. I just don't wanna brick my phone.. and a list of the systems apps that I can erase would be good

Just used the odin procedure, just follow the sticky how to root for dummies thread. when you use this stuff in the forums you will not brick your phone when people use something that they shouldn't use for a particular phone that's when you have a problem. you'll be fine if you just follow the thread.

I'm write down things I deleted without any problems.
I took screenahot pictures of my phone cause it was easier then writing them down at the moment.
Ill try and put it up as a list form.

apps i deleted from system:

hookt.apk (boost mobile app)
aurora.apk [.odex file too] (didnt like this live wallpaper)
bluesea.apk [.odex] (same as above)
bluetooth testmode.apk [.odex] (im not sure if you need it tp make pairings but i havent so far so i think its safe)
booksphone.apk
deviceselfservice4005boost.apk
factorytest.apk[.odex]
forest.apk[.odex] (another wallpaper i didnt like)

geniewidget.apk (great weather app to keep but it is deletable)
googlequicksearchbox.apk
keyboardslideupcounter.apk[.odex] (counts how many times you use the physical keyboard that prevail doesnt even have)
keytracer.apk[.odex](sounds like it can read your messages so i took it off no probles happend without it)
laylar.apk
lcdtest.apk[.odex] (cant test it anyways)
livewallpapers.apk[.odex] (only if you dont like the moving wallapapers, they do drain battery a lot faster and slow the phone down a bit)
poynt.apk
scvngr.apk
spark.apk[.odex] (livewallpaper)
sprint_installer.apk (no problems when i deleted it)
sprint androidextension.apk ( no problems either, deleted with sprint installer at the same time)
swype.apk (too much ram used, and a chunk of internal memory regular keyboard is fine. or vise versa)
talk.apk
talkback.apk
thinkfree.apk
visualisationwallpapers.apk[.odex] ( for if you dont use them they are deletable)
voicedialer.apk[.odex]
voicesearch.apk[odex]
apnservices.apk[.odex]
zone.apk

Extras:
launcher2.apk[.odex] (you can use a better launcher or even a faster one that uses less memory just make sure to install a launcher before deleting this one)
Gallery3Dapk[.odex] (quickpic is a good alternative if you know how to install it as a system app, it also works as a user app)
hiddenmenu.apk (if you dont plan to tweak your phone any longer or not at all. itll just be there) have not tested how it works without deleting.
phonesky.apk (aka market aka playstore. update first. delete old one. transfer .lib files where they need to go then move apk.. less memory wasted, and more ram)
picotts.apk[.odex](if you dont use txt to speech or GPS maps or "talking apps")
soundrecording.apk[.odex] (dont have problems when i delete it, make a backup on the sdcard first "copy n paste" both odex and apk files just in case)

apps i deleted from system:
I also deleted
Device manager.apk (the green circle with a checkmark inside) it didn't cause me problems.
I haven't had any problems deleting and keeping these apps out of my phone.
So no process errors or force closes.

Just an FYI.
I tried deleting the logs apparently and it had my stock email app crashing.

after doing what Rarewolf said you could also make a swap partion or file (up to you on which) and install swapper2 from playstore that would speed it up a lot too your benchmark score will take a hit but your phone will run smoother and faster

I don't think he's very familiar with our methods yet. So this could confuse him even more lolz.
Even I wouldn't know how.
But I'm guessing just using kounas partitioner would work?
