How can I unlock Screen Android Lock Screen on Moto G9 Plus without erasing data

Well-Known Member
Hello
I have a Motorola G9 Plus.
But I forgot the pattern code and password on it.
How could I be able to unlock Screen Android Lock Screen on it without erasing data?

Thanks in advance.

You can't..... sorry gonna have to do a hard reset. Also keep in mind that a hard reset will trip FRP (Factory Reset Protection)..... so you will need your Google account info as well. Make sure you have that before doing the reset.

Thanks a lot,
First of all,
I didn't remember my Google account info.
Do you know how to recovery them?

Why will I need to have my Google Email if I can do factory rest?

Moreover, I read on the internet I can remove the screen lock:

Open the password by recovery (external memory)
This method will only work if your phone supports external memory cards.

1. First, download the Aroma File Manager app from the link below:
aromafm-1.80. zip

2. Now copy the Aroma application to any external memory “memory card” that you own, and then insert it into your Android phone, which is locked with a password.
3. Now turn off your phone, then boot into the official recovery mode. To do so, press and hold the Volume Down button and the Power button for a few seconds to enter the phone into recovery mode.
4. Once in the recovery, through the volume control buttons go to select 'Install Zip from SD card' by pressing the Power button.
5. Now select the Aroma File Manager file that you downloaded before.
After the installation is finished, the Aroma File Manager app will now open in recovery mode.
6. Now in the app settings select 'Automount all devices on start'.
7. Now go back to the main screen of the app and go to Data Folder->System Folder and find a file named password.key or gesture.key of the pattern or password lock.

gesture.key-aroma-file-manager.jpg

8. Once you find any of those files, press and hold on the file and then choose to delete it.
9. Now go back to the recovery mode and restart the phone. Now you can create a new password or even change the graphic pattern because you have just deleted all the files related to the old password. Your phone will be unlocked again without asking for any password as usual.

In Yemen, a cell phone programming person claims on saying he'll bypass the password(lock screen), but that needs for about two days.

I refused that since my cellphone is full of private stuff, such as photos, and so on, which will be shown for the programmer.

How the hell does a person on undeveloped country, like Yemen, claim that he'll fix that issue while you in advanced countries like USA, say it's impossible to even bypass lock phone screen?

Go to a computer and try and log into Google..... you can try your Gmail account as they are one in the same. There should be a forget password option. Follow directions to change your password. Hopefully you remember the email name at least.

The whole point of the screen lock is to prevent unauthorised access to your data. So if there was a way of bypassing it that would make it pointless (especially since thieves would be more likely to know it than ordinary users, since it would be useful to their business). So when exploits that would allow this are found they are patched.

That stuff with Aroma file manager: did you check the date on the information? I did, it's 11 years old. A lot has changed since then, especially with the security of Android. You can try, but a lot of exploits have been closed since then (android 6 in particular killed loads of them), so I don't rate the chances of success.

As for "how would someone in Yemen know?", there's no state secrets in any of this. If you have a computer, an Internet connection, the interest and the aptitude you can learn how to program and modify phones. So if there is a way to do what you want, and it actually works for your model of phone, there's no reason someone in Yemen couldn't know it. Don't let prejudices about "development" get in the way, you could argue that there's more need for phone repair/modification/recovery skills in a less developed country. But that doesn't mean that it is possible, just that I wouldn't make someone's location a factor in my judgement.

From how I see it. some peep is Yemen is running a scam. But it was Uncle Sam(the USA govt) who invented it. And AFAIK, its still impossible to bypass AES256 encryption without the correct key.

Even if I had remembered my Gmail account name, how would that have helped me remove the screen lock?

Hmm
Do you not think that Google Find My Device can be used to remove screen lock if I have launched and logged into that app via my Gmail account?

I see launching "Google Find My Device" app giving one two options of loging into Google account, via email name or cellphone number. So, would not it be possible to try to use cellphone number in case I still do not remember email name?

Btw. This is my device whose screen lock is forgotten.

Our programmer in Yemen is still saying that the people in developed countries say it's impossible to unlock a phone screen lock just from the side of safety.

But there are some Western French apps allowing someone to unlock a cellphone screen lock. But the genuine cellphone agencies across Yemen don't sell such apps for other than authorized programmers and stroes in order for thieves don't misuse them.

You started this thread asking: ...How could I be able to unlock Screen Android Lock Screen on it without erasing data?....

You were told....You can't..... sorry gonna have to do a hard reset. Also keep in mind that a hard reset will trip FRP (Factory Reset Protection)..... so you will need your Google account info as well. Make sure you have that before doing the reset.....

Then you asked ....Even if I had remembered my Gmail account name, how would that have helped me remove the screen lock?.....

I told you it was due to Factory Reset Protection and gave you a link that explained Factory Reset Protection

Now I think you are just here to argue with people, so I'm out.

seriously?

you do not even know what your email account name was when you setup your google account? how can you not know this? and at the same time you forgot your lockscreen pattern as well as your password for that pattern......how is this possible? seems very suspicious to me. are you sure this is your phone? are you sure you did not steal it ? or find it somewhere? how do we know you are telling the truth?

there is a reason why getting by these things are hard. this just shows how good google is at securing "YOUR" phone.

so hard reset the phone and you will at least have a useable phone. and this time write this stuff down and save it in a safe place so you can't forget....or....use a password manager like LastPass and save that info there.

BTW what exactly do you mean "Western French", as in it comes from the west part of France, or is it something else?

I'm out of this thread. Bye!

I am not trying to argue over this matter. But the store person in Yemen still claims it's possible to unlock a cellphone screen lock under condition that cellphone isn't stolen. So the agencies give only authorised programmers such cellphone screen lock removing apps. So if a stolen cellphone was unlocked by them, a person can report them to the agencies.

so why do you not take your phone in to this store then?

It's not my cellphone, but it's my sister's. She doesn't know about cell phones or setting up them.
Her husband who is immigrant set up his cellphone with a Google account a year and a half ago. But he now don't exactly remember the Google account. He only remembers part of the email name, but there is still missed parts which he only can guess, such as he says it looks like:
SamGray121@gmail.com
SamGray122@gmail.com
SamGray123@gmail.com

etc, etc,
That needs billions of guessing attempts.

so why do you not take your phone in to this store then?
I took it to him, but as said in my very strat post, that the store person needs me to leave my cellphone for two days to try to unlock it. But I refused since it has private stuff, such as personal family photos. So who will guarantee for me that store person won't spy my cellphone once it has been unlocked?

well to recover the google account you can try these steps google has:
basically it will start with your phone number. it will send you a message to the phone. hopefully you can see the code number from the lockscreen. if you can't then i'm not sure what else you can do.

is the salesperson in question from the cell phone carrier that the phone is under? or is it some 3rd party store?

Nobody can I don't think. Just ask Gary Glitter, when he took his PC to be fixed at well known computer store...and the police arrested him when he went to pick it up the next day.
Have you got something on the phone that you really wish to keep private?

I meant "Western France" because France is considered a Western country, likewise Yemen can be "Arab Yemen"
