Help how can i update firmeare

hello I have the t959uvjfd baseband version and its from June. the newest one is T959UVJI6 it was relesed on September, and when I press on my phone softeare update it says no firmware. what can I do. I have a Rooted phone by the way. heeeelp

Although the JI6 firmware is from Samsung, the encryption was hacked, it wasn't meant for release yet.

So you can't really say this is official yet. Furthermore, T-Mobile has said last week, not to install any firmware updates, not even the ones via Samsung Kies.

You should hold off, next week there will be an announcement from T-Mobile as to the current state of an official update.
 
I actually agree you should wait for TMO's official update on this one mainly because if I understand right T-mobile isn't required to help you if you download an unofficial update that messes up your phone.
 
the decision is yours since those that have updated have had no issues at all. Also TMO has a rep for really making its customers wait when it comes to updates.. just ask those neglected mytouch users

does it matters if my phone is rooted?
 
I was trying to unroot my phone yesturday and it got loked on the galaxy S screen it wont boot up what can I do? and the volume up and down plus power at the same time dosent work to do a master reset how can I make a master reset?

Do you know how to use odin? If so, just flash your phone back to stock firmware. If not, go here and download odin as well as the drivers and the stock firmware.

yea but for odin you need to do the volume up and down plus power to go to download mode and my phone dosent do that .

I picked this up from a post on xda. It certainly worked for me:

"I thought i had a hardware locked phone and i was about to send it out to samsung under warranty.
But i have found a way to enter download mode 100% of the time.
Turn off the device.
Immediately plug in charger.
At the same time start holding vol up/down
Download mode for me everytime! hope this helps."
