Help How can that be ?

All of a sudden / out of the blue my G7 won't make phone calls, incoming calls go straight to "unavailable"
The odd thing is it works fine with incoming or outgoing texts, how can that be.

I did a Factory Reset and the phone worked, but a couple of hours later it was back to the above, so it was Factory Reset again, worked for a couple of hours then quit again.

I'd appreciate thoughts on what's going wrong...

Hi Bob,

My immediate suspicion is a worn-out SIM card. If you've been using that SIM for a long time, I'd ask the carrier for a new one.

I had a similar issue with my calls & texts working sometimes, and others not. I took it to our carrier store and began troubleshooting the phone. It wasn't until Level 2 tech support called in the experts that we were told to try a new SIM card. We took out the old SIM and the metal contacts looked horrible! The new SIM did the trick. I hope this helps!

Yeh, could be a duff SIM that needs replacing.

It's odd though that a Factory Reset gets voice calls working, but within a could of hours voice calls are lost, but texts still work ?

When I try to reconnect with Sky I just get the "unable to connect to service at this time" or words to that effect.

Agree its a wonky Sim card most likely. I would head on out to your carrier store and see what they say.

Just done another Factory Reset and the phone works, maybe for an hour though :-(
How the hell can that be, what turns it off ? and why does a Factory Reset turn it back on ?

If it's not the SIM faulty, might be there's a problem with the phone itself that needs repair or replacement? I think ruling out a duff SIM is the first thing to do in trying to diagnose the problem.

Thanks for all your suggestions, I've ordered a new SIM, hopefully that'll fix it.

Solution: disable app named Google. And everything will be working again. It's bad update from Google.
