Thanks!!!! Didnt even think of that. LolTook me a while to figure it out too, but accidentally discovered how to update the bottom icons.
1. Touch the application icon to go to your applications page
2. Hit the menu button and select edit, it might ask you to switch the view type hit switch
3. After that you'll see that you can edit the bottom row icons
Btw this was done on the at&t version of the note but everything should be the same

Opps I did realize I had been looking for this option on the settings - not going to the apps view directly - thanksYou can't change the bottom row of icons if you app menu is in LIST view.
You must change it back to GRID view, then magically you'll be able to edit the docked icons.
yet again STUPID Samsung software, full of dead ends!
I really do miss the software from HTC sense, it really is leagues ahead of Samsungs efforts
Yes I paid like $15 for supposedly this great screen protector and it was horrible. I finally just removed it as it felt bumpy and my fingers did not slide over it easily like the screen protector I had for my iPhone. I did get it on smoothly but did not like the feel of it at all. My daughter did the same thing. Now I have no protection on my screen at all and I do not like that. I've always protected my screen. I have a Speck case on it but no screen protector. I wish they would come up with a good one. :-( If anyone finds a good one, let me know.Yes BUT,
One thing that is not apparent from the Trident advertising is that THERE IS NO BUILT IN SCREEN PROTECTOR FOR THE GALAXY NOTE. It does say built-in screen protection for most devices... later in the finer print. It doesn't say NO BUILT IN SCREEN PROTECTION on the Galaxy NOTE page.
There is simply the cheap, crappy, stick on screen protector that, no matter what I do I cannot get it flat with the bubbles out. The screen is the most vulnerable part of the phone, that's why I bought this level of phone protection. Boy was I p%&*ed.
I have emailed Mr Trident expressing my dissatisfaction.
I will junk this cover and get the Otter Box, it does 'actually' have built-in screen protection.

I have the otterbox defender and it is wonderful. The screen protector works great and is smooth and since it is built in to the case it will never bubble.
??Even a custom launcher wont get rid of these, as they are part of the TouchWiz Rom. Would need to root and use a different ROM. I assume you are talking about the 6 icons that appear wen you press the bottom arrow...Task manager/calendar/world clock/pen memo/calculator/and music player
Have you considered the 'invisible shield' by zagg. It is quaranteed for life, was fairly easy to get a smooth finish with the application, and the screeen still responds as expected. I have the trident kraken on order, also wanted the highest protection, hope I am not disappointed. I was not worried about the tridents screen protecter because I had applied the zagg shield. From my research the kraken had good reviews, equal to or higher than the otter's defender. And I also found it cheaper direct from trident than what this city wanted for the otter. (trident it was not carried by anyone in my city). One bonus with the kraken was the option of color, with it I will be able to see the phone, instead of looking for yet another black thing.Yes BUT,

Do you know of any way of customising the icons for the items in the bottom row? It appears that you cannot place shortcuts in there. I use Folder Organiser and unfortunately, because the ammended icons are just shortcuts for the homescreens and they don't actually change the original icon, i'm a tad stuck. Any help greatfully recieved![]()

How you change the Touchwiz apps on the bottom of the screen? Is it even possible? I dont use the Samsung version of email. Instead I just use GMail. I prefer to not have the calendar there either. I pressed and held but nothing happens.
Help would be appreciated.
