Help How do I add music to my fully fueled Skyrocket?

Ex-iPhone user here, have been using 3Gs for too long now. Just bought the Skyrocket and have spent the whole day playing with it. Then I decided to put some of my favorite music in there and thought, "hey, if I just connect it to my PC, it would install itself and the little droid will help me through this as it did with my phone!" but no droid this time. Googled for solutions, got the Kies, and still no-go (it can't handle the awesomeness of my Skyrocket, it seems.). Only alternative solution I know is to use it with USB storage option, but I don't know how to correctly add music so that the mp3s actually show up in my Music section.

Is anybody willing to provide step-by-step instructions on how to add music to my phone? I think I'm getting too old for this...

- Plug your phone to your PC via USB
- turn on USB mode (prompt box should pop up for internal/external memories)
- create a music file in either your internal or external memories.
- drag and copy all your music from PC to your internal or external memories.

What I do is open up iTunes and right click on a song. Click on open show in windows explorer. I then drag on music files to my phone. All my music tagged on iTunes is now tagged on my phone. All info, album covers and all.

That's my way but I'm sure others will have inputs.
 
Another way to do it if you want playlists, star ratings, song counts etc from iTunes to come over to your SR is to use an app called iSyncr. Works great for me.

+1 for iSyncr. Love it coming from an iPhone/iTunes experience.

I also use PlayerPro as my music app.
 
USB mode and drag and drop has always been the straight-forward approach for me. I'm clueless as to all this sync stuff or why you would need to do that to load music.
 
I just bought a Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket. I want to download music from my iMac. I've read threads about the need to convert music to an MP3 or other suitable format. I have no problem with that. However, I can't figure out how to transfer the files to my Skyrocket. I have read the threads and advice about USB transfers and transfering files right onto a memory chip, but, neither appear to be solutions for my phone.

I do not appear to have a USB cable jack on my phone, and what appears to be a memory card can only be accessed by extracting my phone from my Otter case and pulling the back off the phone. By the way, my iMac doesn't have a memory card reader.:mad:

It seems to me there should be a way to transfer music, something comparable to accessing pictures through Picasa or calendar info through Google calendar. At the very least, I should be able to transfer tunes directly from my computer to my phone using blue tooth.
 
You don't have a USB Jack? Did your phone not come with a chord? Plug it into your computer.

I don't get how people make this entirely more complicated than it is.

I saw the cord, but, assumed it was only used for recharging, as it was packaged with an outlet plug the USB end plugs into. So, it wasn't an entirely stupid question.
 
I've done the steps - connected USB, created music folder, dragged itunes. The music doesn't show up when I hit the icon. I can only find it in the 'my files' in the music folder I created. I can play the songs, one at a time - and that will not work. I also did the Kies and nothing shows up. What am I doing wrong? The music is on my phone in the right format - why can't I play them correctly!??
 
I found the winamp app to work very well for doing just this. Install the app on the phone and pc, use the pc winamp to import all songs to it then attach the phone via usb and upload to the phone. Very fast and simple. The songs will be in your music folder, I'd recommend using a micro sd card though, or you'll fill the internal usb storage pretty quickly.
 
I have a iphone he has a adroid I'm trying to add music via memory card how can I add music to the memory card while keeping the music on itunes for future use for the iphone. I don't know what i'm doing help.
 
K...this is my first smart phone ever, galaxy s II skyrocket. I have the file set up, got the device drivers all ready, music is correctly formatted, now how do I change it to USB storage so I can transfer the files. Drag and drop won't work.
Thanks for any help ahead of time.
