Root How do I delete a letter AFTER the cursor?

Simple concept, I feel stupid for asking. Let's say I typed that as "Simple concept, I feel stupid for basking" and tapped the screen to put the cursor after the B in BASKING to delete it, but accidentally inserted before the B. How do I delete that without struggling to get the cursor exactly after the B? On a BB you can just hit the ALT key while hitting delete and it would delete the B after the cursor. I can't seem to figure out a simple typing issue.

Thanks in advance!

Nope, still deletes previous letter....

I should add I'm running Virtuous 2.7 with stock kernel, 2.15 radio, but I've had this issue on stock 2.2, skyraider 2.5.2 and 3.0.

Thanks!

You are holding shift then pressing delete with the cursor to the left of the character you want to delete?

I just move the cursor with the optical joystick. There are exceptions but many if not most android keyboards will not support the pressing of two keys at once. I think the Motorola Droid 2 keyboard does and there are those who have installed it with some success on the incredible.

Ok, ok, I'll use the trackpad. I almost forgot it was there. I don't use it for anything and maybe I should! Still curious why the standard method doesn't work though. Pressing and holding shift then del.

didn't even occur to me that the pad could do that. Still learning. Was a fairly advanced BB user, but its fun to be learning an entirely new platform.
