Help How do I delete G-Talk Chats?

Hi guys

My wife has the Sprint Hero and we were talking using G-Talk and she asked me how do she delete convos from 2 days ago? The only way i found is that you have to log out and log back in that will delete all current convos. And help about this be great.

Well just so you know I have the G-Talk on my HTC Magic and when I have conversations on there for me that is the only way to delete ur convos by logging out and then logging back in.
 
that i know i just wondering if there is any other way of doing that, that sound pretty stupid to log out and then log back in

Have you tried to long press the person with whom the chat is with? When your under your contacts list in g-talk, what I've done was I've hit long press and it gives me the option to end chat. See if you are able to do that.
 
i did try end chat, but when i go back to that paerson the chat is still there, I thought when yo uend chat that current convo will be gone.

I ended up finding this, because I was just in a chat with my cousin on g-talk and I was able to delete it.

"the gmail android app mirrors the gmail website. you can view your chat history in the gmail app. go to your inbox, hit menu->View Labels. select Chats. then you can view your chat history and delete threads from there (in the same manner as deleting email. just long press and options will appear. or step into the conversation and the delete button is at the bottom)."

That should help.

Let me get this clear Almie you want me to bash my phone on the floor and that will delete my gtalk chat history. I am confused hehe hi Almie, go back to work POW. Hi Joe nice to see you over at Phandroid. Question is your Pre going bye bye like mine did. Pow Joe just Pow.

hehe HI ALDO, and merh yea deleting the gtalk chat history in your gmail doesn't work!!! Only way to do it is IN FACT by logging out then logging back in and *POOF* its all gone. But yea only way to do it, its pretty *** but so far no other way to delete the convos on gtalk. It will just keep logging or you can do it off record. MERHHHHH :D

Also Aldo...I am working, working very hard at my job. *phew* so tigger.

Nope doesn't delete it off the phone. Only way to delete off the phone is by logging off then logging back onto gtalk. And I've tried deleting off the thread in the labels section in gmail and it did NOT delete on gtalk.
 
Hey Aldo

whats up man, how are you doing with the Hero, yeh the Pre is getting to me lack of apps, games and customization of simple things. PLus wife doesnt like the Hero no hard keyboard wants the Samsung Moment. So i will be getting the Hero in 2 weeks.

Yeah all good with the Hero and i found the Pre sluggish compared to the Hero. No apps or if there was apps we have already used from the homebrew store. Games merh nothing there and the only customization was the darn icons and that be it. The samsung moment is a little to big for my liking but she will like i believe. The one thing that always bother me about the Pre was not the OS but the build quality no matter how much i defend the Pre it was plastic like and cheap.
 
I totally agree especially with the slider, i looked at the Samsung Reclaim slider and that is solid like a rock, very solid slider on the Reclaim. My wife she likes the hard keyboard she coming from Curve 8330 so she needs the keyboard plus Moment has the virtual also so she gets both worlds, and the Moment keyboard is very well laid out, so soon as she gets the Moment i will have my moment with the Hero :-)

Aldo you miss the Pre?

Nope i dont miss i put it in a very dark place to rest. Its just too slow for me especially cus i need to go fast and stopping and pausing is not cool at all. Also the camera is better on the hero. I push the screen and hold i dont like using the ball to take pics.

Aldo, u think the camera is better on the hero?? It may have more MP's but i noticed the Pre takes better pix in an overall sense. Being that if you dont have great light with the Hero then your pix come out worse than the Pre. Thats the one thing i miss on the Pre, the flash on the camera and the quickness of taking the pix. No pressing and waiting. Just snap and shoot and on to the next. But i dont miss waiting 5 minutes for it to open the freakin album to view my pix. lol
 
There is no delete option in the G-Talk, when viewing the chat, i found that only logging out and logging back in does the trick.
 
Sorry to inform you but it does not delete the chat, I know it does when i am on my pc and using G-Talk but not while i am on the Hero and using the G-Talk app.
