Help How do I disable Google Talk?

I don't use it and it's always running unless I remember to shut it off. Is there any way to disable auto load?

just dont sign in. its part of the google services on the phone so it cant be removed per say. but it does NO harm sitting there

I have it set not to sign in but it is still running according to Running Services. I really don't use my gmail so its not necessary to be notified of new mails being that I don't have any. lol. I'm just trying to shut off the programs I don't need to save on battery.

If saving battery life is what your after, I would look else where rather than trying to completely kill off the running Google Talk app. After going through some tests a few weeks ago, I determined that it has little to no effect on my battery consumption if I just leave Google Talk as a running app. You may want to reduce the frequency of when your phone checks for updates in apps such as FB, Twitter, some weather apps, etc...

If you're talking about disabling from a call perspective, there is a shortcut available to toggle it.

Google talk keeps trying to sign in and gives me notification about failing to sign in.

I did not want to use google talk.

Yet my phone is UNUSABLE because this little f*cken ap is beeping every 10 minutes.

There is no disable.
There is no uninstall

Are you rooted? If so go to /system/app and delete or rename the talk apk, or any other app you dont want or that is not needed for the phone to function.. If your not rooted your out of luck.
