I've seen some cool presentations, and I have also had problems getting android to recognize my words, and speech.

Is there an app from google market, or some kind of widget I have to install, in order to start training android how to recognize my particular spleech habits?
(just kidding. SPEECH habits)

thanks!

I speak English nearly perfectly, with clear annunciation and it still gets words wrong a lot of the times.

Are you saying that it's learning program is built in?

thanks.

I have similar complaints, especially since I expected something better from my Android 3.2 tablet in comparison to my 2.2 phone. Some websites show a setting for training. It's supposed to be on Settings -> Language & input -> Voice recognizer settings and below the other options there. (The path is slightly different on the smartphone.) To be most effective, there should also be a speaker-specific memory of recently corrected recognition errors.

Anyone know what is going on there? My initial guess is that it's just another metric of the wave of evil flooding the Google. Their only interest in personal things is when they can figure out how to abuse our privacy for more profits, not when it would help us input email, eh?

In settings -> Voice input and output -> Voice recognizer settings -> make sure you check the Personalized recognition.

Then the more you use it the better it should get. I have been using the personalized recognition for about a year I think and it is right almost every time I use voice input.
