Help How do I get the fingerprint scanner to work? - Bell Atrix

I assume it is the same as the AT&T in the USA?

Press menu --> settings --> Location & security --> Change screen lock --> Fingerprints.

Is that not the same for you?
 
Are you swipping too fast/slowly? Maybe ask someone else to give it a whirl and if they are unable to then I'd consider exchanging the phone.

Just got my little sister, little brother, and older brother to try, none of them could get anything out of it either. Either we're all doing it wrong (which is very possible) or it's malfunctioned.
 
I'd definetly look into exchanging it then dude. My fingerprint scanner works flawlessly. I can even scan my finger really fast (at least to me it is) and it still recognizes my print.

Awesome, I'm trying to set it up though and I can't even get a single checkmark on the bottom of the setup screen.
You're probably doing it too fast or pressing too hard. Also make sure you're swiping (sliding) your finger across the flat surface rather than pressing your finger on it. If that doesn't help, then I'd take it back to the store and ask if they can get it work. If not, then replace it.

I have a TPU gel case on mine and no issues with swiping my fingerprint with it on or off. The case doesn't get in the way of the scanner at all, and it shouldn't since there is a cutout for the scanner.

Any Bell store can exchange it...just bring your receipt and you should be fine. Dealers are different and may want you to return it to the actual store where you bought it.

Well, the mall I'm planning on going to has two bell stores in it. If that fails, there's a futureshop near by there, if that fails, there's a bestbuy near there as well. If all that fails, I'll have to go to the store I got it from. I just hate going there because of a huge language barrier, I'd have a real hard time explaining why I wanna return it.
