I was so excited that I finally flashed my first Custom ROM (Dark side Evolution ICS).
But this ROM has it's share of problems, and I want to get my phone back to the way it was.
I'm using CWM.
But it won't restore back to the stock ROM, which I backed up on my external card accordingly.
I also copied that backup to my laptop, which I think I did wrong.
I copied it into "My Documents";
I think when I try to use this backup, as the one on the card won't restore (some kind of "change log" error, I think. I've tried so many things I don't remember what errors go to what now. Which makes it hard for you to correct my errors for me, I know), I think it errors because this b/u is "read only". Maybe this isn't the problem. I don't know.
So I gave up on the restore thing, and downloaded a stock T989 ROM from StockROMs.net.
When I try to install this zip, it aborts the install after looking for, then opening, this "update" (I think that's what it says. I'm tired and confused after fighting with this thing for 20 or 30 hours now) at the very beginning of the installation process.
And it doesn't matter, same abort, even after I moved this ROM to the external as it downloads to the internal originally. Why I thought this might make a difference, I don't know.
So now, I hate my phone.
And I hate myself for messing it up when I knew I didn't know enough to mess with it in the first place.
I guess I thought I was safe as long as I used Nandroid back-up.
I just thought that everybody else is doing it, I'm of average intelligence, and I can't learn if I don't try.
Obviously, I'm wrong about part or all of this.
And what's worse, is that as good as you guys are, you can't very well help me if I can't even accurately describe to you what I have tried and exactly what that result was.
I just wish someone could magically make this ROM go away and make the other one come back.
Well, thank you anyway, for at least reading this, and for any suggestions or comments you have.
Appreciate it.
