How do I hide my phone number?

I want to send text messages to some business contacts but i don't want them to see my phone number. How can I hide it? I've heard that *67 will work, but I can't find a way to put that combination in my contact listing.
Anyone have a solution?

you can try to use google voice, or send texts via gmail. I use the gmail option to text the wife from work if I forgot my phone at home.

*67 is for phone calls only. Like it was mentioned before. Use Google Voice. This way you can use the GV number and not give out your real number.
