Help How do I install a Non .APK File?

I have rooted my Samsung Galaxy SII Phone. I used Superoneclick and it was very easy! I am now trying to install apps that are not .APK files? When I transfer a file that is .APK I open up that folder using Astro and I click on the .APK file and it installs.....However, When I transfer a file that is NOT a .APK there is no execute file to make the program run? I have even renamed the file with a .apk instead of a .zip and my phone can open the file but there is nothing there to execute? Can someone explain how to install a non .apk file? Is there an App that do this? I am very new so if you could give a good explaination on how to do this, that would help alot!

Thanks

The files are for an Android Phone. In file there is a folder that is an assets, lib,meta-inf, res and 3 files .xml,.dex and .arsc file? How would I install this app since it does not have an .apk file?

Thanks

those files are changes in the framework of the phone. they must be put in the correct folder of the phone using an app like root explorer and then restarted

i havent done it in a long time, last time i tried i messed up and it took me forever to get it working again, so i never tried again. i do think you have to have root explorer or adb though. all i can recommend is reading on xda to find out what exactly you need

just rename the .rar file to .apk file

example cricket.rar to cricket.apk and then try to install using astro file manager it will work for sure :smokingsomb::D
