Root How do I install custom ROMs?

How do I install a custom ROM? on my Asus Infinity TF700t? I've unlocked the tablet enabled USB Debugging and installed Goo Manager but when I enable recovery mode by holding down volume down and power I don't see the USB Icon I only see thae RCK Icon Android Icon and wipe data icon. I tried using Transformer Toolkit.exe but it crashed when I tried to install boot loader.

I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

I did this and it Does Not Work. I do Not see the USB Icon when in recovery mode. I even got as far as seeing the bar in the center of the screen when it was writing the boot loader and then rebooting the tablet but I still do Not see the USB Icon in recovery mode with USB Debugging enabled.
When I try to run TWRP keeps crashing and at one time when I did get TWRP to run without crashing it gave me a message that it needs a rooted device and when I taped ok it closed. When I try to run RASHR it says device not rooted please root it. I used the Asus Unlocking tool and every time I boot my tablet it says "The Device is Unlocked". I did a factory rest to try and start over and now when I try to run the unlocking tool it says "an unknown error occurs which may be a network connection issue. please wait and try again later"

Is there a way to restore my tablet back to the way it was before I unlocked it or in other words remove the unlocked state and make it like it was never unlocked?

Thanks

Read the instructions for the particular ROM.

You didn't actually say that you rooted your device. Until you do that you can't install a customer ROM (and the recovery will look like what you described).

See the sticky at the top of this forum, in there you'll find a link to a root tool. I suspect that's the next step for you.
