Root How Do I Install Older Version of RUU?

Hi, my build number is 4.08.605.2 CL185897, Android Version 2.3.4, Stock Kernel 2.6.35.13. I've noticed that unrevoked 3.32 no longer works on this version so I am trying to downgrade to 3.26.605.1.

The only instruction about downgrading I was able to find on this website was telling me I had to place PB31IMG in the root of my sd card and flash it through clockwork recovery which requires the phone to already be rooted.

My phone is not rooted and I am trying to downgrade so I can install unrevoked. If anyone can give me some pointers and/or better advice, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

TL/DR: Got replacement Droid Incredible in December. Updated firmware no longer allows me to install unrevoked. It makes me very sad.

You need to follow this thread:

This is not correct. PB31IMG files are flashed through hboot and do not require you to be rooted (provided they are officially signed). However, in order to downgrade to an older RUU, you need s-off. So once again, that can be achieved with the link above. Note that you start out using an older version of Unrevoked (3.22). It allows temporary root which allows a downgrade to Froyo, then you can root and go s-off with the newest Unrevoked.

Good luck. If you have any questions, ask in that thread. It is watched regularly.
