Help How do I know if I have the quad core version or not?

I got this phone a little less than a week ago, and I am trying to determine if mine is the Quad core Galaxy S3, or the older dual core. Is there a way from within the OS that I can easily determine this? Any help appreciated..

There is no OLDER or NEWER S3. There is a US version for Verizon that has dual core and an International version i9300 and a few others. Check the model under the battery or on the box and provide here as otherwise my glass ball has been on leave for some time now.

Exactly this! In fact, if you want to be technical, the US variant dual-cores are newer than the international model quad-cores as the US models weren't available until a couple months after the international. Basically, do you have an international model or one of the US variants (Verizon, AT&T, etc.)? You can look under your battery for a model number. I9300 is the quad-core where as something like the I747 (AT&T US) is a dual-core.

i535 (The U.S. Verizon one) is dual-core as well. My understanding was that most, if not all, U.S. versions were dual-core. I could be wrong.

Not sure if this is the dual or quad, either, but my model # is SPH-L710. Sprint's website shows the specs as Dual-Core, but it could be a typo!

I was hoping it would show that information in the Device Information, but alas, it did not.

There are some variations in the international phones...but BASICALLY these are the hardware configurations...

US = Dual Core w/2gb of RAM
Int. = Quad Core w/1gb of RAM

There is no "old" or "new"

Of course, the Ad at the bottom of this thread, "The Samsung Galaxy S3 is the company's flagship device of 2012. As one of the most anticipated devices of the year, this device is the first to come with a Exynos 4 Quad processor. It also has Android 4.0, a 4.8-inch 720p Super AMOLED", doesn't help with the confusion factor.
