Root How do i re-activate my rooted OV with custom recovery?

So ive been trying to do this for about 12hrs now to no avail. i need some guidance. all i wanna do is re-activate my wifes OV with my credentials for the weekend until moday when my htc evo v 4g gets here. any ideas, suggestions would be much appreciated.

Does this phone have a custom ROM as well? If so and it's a Froyo ROM you should still have the activate app from vm. Some more info would help answer your question better.

You would also have to call in to virgin Mobile

Its a stock nandroid backup with xionia recovery. The problem I'm having is that when I'm on a froyo rom my 3g will not come on at all no matter what I do. Toggling airplane, mobile data or rebooting does nothing. And you can't activate over wifi. I'm stuck.

UPDATE: got it activated. forgot when i sold my triumph i had them "temporarily suspend" my account, which apparently means reporting your phone stolen lol. so i went online and logged in and restored my account and all was good.
