How do I remove Auto Boost?

Hi. I read another thread about this Auto Boost thing that pops up, but isn't necessarily malware. I took all of the steps in the other thread and others I found elsewhere (removing the app that had it, checking admins and other permissions, etc.), but it won't go away! Any other ideas?

well in order to help, we need to know what steps you have tried.
?????

As I mentioned, I uninstalled the app that brought it, I checked admin privs and all other permissions including draw over other apps, I looked for any unknown/odd apps including system apps, I looked for the Auto Boost app itself to uninstall, and I looked through all settings - nothing was there.

Immediately after the program pops up go to Settings- >Apps & notifications->Recently opened apps to see what program ran. I found that "Equalizer Pro" ran right when the pop-up did even though I was not using it or listening to music.

If the notification is there then you haven't removed the app that produced it, you only removed the app you thought had produced it. You still need to find the culprit.

Thanks Skipster67. It appears Equalizer Pro was the culprit for me as well. My LG Aristo doesn't offer the Settings- >Apps & notifications->Recently opened apps option, so I couldn't use it to verify recent access by the EP app. Uninstalled it anyway, and the popups are gone. :)

Hey the sound boost app it work so far👍 I remove the app of what's left of it anyway cuz it never had a chance to update it never worked but I removed it so far no pop-ups you guys should give it a try thank you for posting this.

I have been having this problem for a few days, i didn't download any new apps, that I recall, and I don't have equalizer. I also don't have the availability to see which apps were used last. And long pressing it when it comes up does nothing.

Look in the play store app and see which apps have been updated in the last week or two. It's not just new installs that can introduce bad behaviour, updates can do this as well.

the updates only go back to three days ago and this has been happening for more than 3 days. I would say more like a week or 6 days. but three days ago it updated messenger and sudoku.

This just popped up on my wife's phone today. My kids play with our phones a lot and one of them has downloaded various voice recorder and microphone apps, so it may well have something to do with those. We both have Motorola phones, so it's not just a Samsung issue, for those wondering.

Hi guys

I'm getting this auto boost crap as well. But I've not downloaded any of the suggested apps people have mentioned on here. I've gone through all of my apps but have no clue as to which one sneaked the boost onto my phone. Anyone got any ideas. Thank you

Im also having this problem, although mine seems to be a little different. I cant figure out how to get rid of them thoughView attachment 142218 View attachment 142219

I'm glad you were able to solve the issue. It sure is annoying. For some reason it seems that this issue is associated with the boosting types apps (volume booster / sound booster, etc).

I hope others have the same luck.
I'M NEW BUT I HAVE THE ANSWER! REMOVE THE "AUDIO EFFECTS" app. Shazam! Nuisance Auto Booster app is history. Thanx for the great tip.

I also had the Auto Boost problem. I tried looking for some of the apps mentioned, but I couldn't find them. Finally, I recognized the "Drink Water" screen that tigereyes7088 posted.

I remembered seeing "Drink Water" in an app called Daily Fitness. Because nothing else had worked, I tried uninstalling it yesterday afternoon. After going about 16 hours without seeing Auto Boost again, I decided to try reinstalling Daily Fitness again. Within a couple of minutes, Auto Boost popped up. I uninstalled Daily Fitness again and haven't seen Auto Boost for several hours.

I originally installed Daily Fitness several months ago, but I just started noticing Auto Boost after a recent round of updates about a week ago. Perhaps Auto Boost snuck itself into Daily Fitness recently?

I'm not sure if Daily Fitness was my problem, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. If it comes back, I'll come back and post an update.
