Root How do I remove root?

I have to send in my phone back to Verizon. I am currently running Gingerbread stock and is rooted. I now have to send the phone back to Verizon and have to unroot. How do I do this?

If you're planning on getting the phone back from Verizon and using it again, I'd definitely follow sdrawkcab's plan. With any luck, they won't "update" it to their broken Gingerbread.

If you are sending this phone never to be seen again (trade-in, etc) then you could follow the above link but use the Gingerbread PB31IMG instead. Then you could avoid the rom flash and radio downgrade. It can be found here:

We're kinda in a state of flux with this phone where stock might be either 2.2 or 2.3.4.

So wait. I already have stock Gingerbread on my phone. But the way I have Gingerbread on my phone is that I updated through a ROM. Do I still need to install the PB311MG gingerbread on my phone?

EDIT: I used this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1219407 for my update before. I am also sending this phone to never see it again.

Okay I did all of that. And now back to original stock. Build number now has CL140944 release-keys is it supposed to be like that? But its still S-OFF.

If you followed the linked guide, you should have noticed the part about doing s-on before the unroot. If you want it s-on, you'll have to reroot, apply the s-off zip and then unroot again.
