Root How do i root 2.2

I just got the phone, and its new but i think my screen protector got dirty and i put it on and the screen looks messy how do i take the screen protector off? anyways i want to root i think im on latest everything i just checked im 2.2. so i want to root and install a rom can anyone tell me how im totally new

If you are on 2.1 then you can use simple root. Make sure you use the one designed for your version of 2.1. I am pretty sure you are on 1.47 so you can use this: [Program] Updated: 8-5-10: 1 Click SimpleRoot OTA 1.47.651.1 Edition - xda-developers. Never take an OTA from Sprint or you will lose root (unless you have unRevoked Forever).

You will get 2.2 once you complete simpleroot and flash a 2.2 based ROM.

but i want fresh, baked snack, or evio rom. well do u know how 2 mount sd card on cmoputer cuz im stuck on that step on rooting 2.2 also, when i clicked unrevoked 2 it takes me to the unrevoked 3 page so that is unrevoked 3 right cuz if i click unrevoked 3 it says its down

I'm calling troll. For someone who knew nothing about rooting to get through the first steps in the guide that fast seems unlikely, now s/he seems to be backtracking and doesnt know how to mount the sd card? Just sayin...

All of the ROMs you mentioned are using the latest OTA so they are 2.2. To mount the SD card on the computer, plug in the USB, pull down the notification menu (if it doesn't pop up), select use as disk drive and hit done. If you use simpleroot, you do not need unRevoked at all. As long as you downgraded correctly, simpleroot will root your phone.
