Root How do I root this thing (2.3.4)?

Newbie
How should I go about rooting this thing? I'm running the stock 2.3.4 and such. I'm new to Android but had a Casio Commando that I successfully rooted with Superoneclick, but it isn't clear to me whether or not I can use the same software to root this Inc 2 with 2.3.4.
 
Yea, read on through it to see if anyone has other tips. I would find more information for you, but I'm on my phone.

Follow those directions, to the letter. But don't stop reading there.
Keep learning, sorting through these threads looking for information. There's tons of it in here. If you can't find an answer, go ahead and ask the question. Someone here will most likely help you out. We have a great community here (and a prick here or there).
You should be a member of at least one other forum to expand your source of information. XDA forums have helped me too, but this is my favorite.

Not really. OTA update to 2.3.4 moved the HBOOT up from 0.97.000 to 0.98.000. The only option for the beta key on revolutionary.io is 97. So, if you have HBOOT 0.98.000 after OTA update to 2.3.4, I'd recommend waiting until 98 is available as an option for the beta key. If anyone has an opinion about this, I'd love to hear it.
 
So... Despite ALL the previous dancing (no substantive replies), there appears to be No Root Available for any Incredible 2 with a bootloader screen displaying:

So my HBOOT is is the .98 one. Any chance there'll be a simple software root for this in, say, the next month or two provided I avoid future OTA updates? Or am I totally screwed?
 
Surely something will be available soon. This is a hot phone and it seems to me that people want to provide support for it.
 
yeah same here man. You guys think by november or what?? stock this phone is amazing, but I am already growing tired of the crapware. can't wait to get some Dinc2HD + Sense 3.5 goodness.

The best place to watch is the XDA forums. If root is obtained this will be the place you will most likely see it first.
