How do I turn off haptic feedback?

Is there a way to turn off the haptic feedback in all apps and systems?

Also, in the pull-down bar, can we customize the Recent Apps to specific ones, or to something else entirely, like toggle widgets (ala some custom roms)?

i believe to turn off haptic feed back u go into menu, settings, language and keyboard, then android keyboard and uncheck haptic feed back...and as far as customizing you pulldiwn u have to be rooted with like you said a custom rom...

I am using Swiftkey for the keyboard, but I would like to remove the haptic feedback for everything, like the capacitive buttons, etc.

Same boat. I'd like to keep haptic feedback on for Swiftkey, but turn it off for the home/menu/back buttons and when choosing an icon on the homescreen. Reason: battery life. I imagine each individual vibration doesn't do much, but the hundreds of times it does it each day must have a negative effect on the battery, right?

Is haptic feedback the vibrate when you touch the buttons?

are there any downfalls using it? battery life, etc?

Some have mentioned a slight battery hit that must add up with a lot of use, but for me the issue was sheer annoyance!
