Root How do I UNROOT?

RussWWFC

Ok, so I've tried the root, been using Android Revolution for about 6 weeks now and very nice it is too. However the real reason why I rooted was to get Gingerbread, and although I've seen it in a few Roms, it is all very beta at the moment with the various issues. I think I will wait for the official version.

Also a lot of the times you have to flash the radio which I don't feel comfy with.

So I want a nice easy risk free way of going back to stock rom and getting all the protections back (like not being able to flash radio)

I have googled and their are Desire guides, but not DHD guides

Helped myself after much research

STEPS

1)
Download an EXE from here - I used 1.32

2)
In Windows, run it. You may need HTC Sync installed

3)
You'll need to connect your phone via USB

4)
Follow the on screen instructions, it will take about 15 minutes

5)
Voila, all done

Yep, just get the RUU exe file for you & that's it.
However, if you're phone came locked & branded prior to rooting & rom-ing, you'll need to have made a goldcard first to return the locking & branding too.

@russ
Have you tried the latest cm7 (rc3)? - very gb

No, mine was unlocked. Was tempted by CM7, but think I will wait for the official. I did try out a HTC Sense version of Gingerbread (hacked from a new phone model) but it was unstable

You should, very stable, quick, smooth, has full bluetooth support...
Has the full gb look & feel, very impressed.
